((Open thread for anyone who is bored and wants to play lupines. I figure I should throw some wolves around since I have so damn many))

___He was ill groomed, the clumps of his short spring coat creating a lumpy mass of silver and white fibers, intermingled with small twigs and pine needles. There was a certain haggard look to his current state, a steep tuck to his belly and a certain desperation in his amber eyes. It was a bit misleading, really; he was only in the same state shared by every lone wolf at the onslaught of winter. The only thing that had changed from his previous condition, the one where he had been robust, healthy, and generally content with his existance, was that he was - in fact - a lone wolf now.
___When had he last seen Hellsing? He couldn't really remember these days. Shortly after the mess with Adolf and Hassan, both wolves having found their new companions to be frauds, they'd been driven out and in seperate directions. Assuming they would meet again in their isolated retreat in the mountains, he had invested little time in seeking his estranged mate, enjoying a brief reprive from their love, hate, and mostly hate relationship.
___However, several months had now passed without her return, suggesting that she was either plotting another malicious scam to be inflicted on some poor unfortunate pack, or had died (or been killed) in any of the numerous, disasterous situations that tended to arise in Gallop Free. The fact that he felt a bit left out regardless was a chilling testament to just how attached he was to the twisted, tumultuous relationship he'd been alternately involved and trapped in for years now.
___As Alucard paused upon the downward slope of a gently rolling hillside, the trees of the trunks stretching endless below him, he let out a low, huffing sigh. Pale whips of his breath curled from the black corners of his mouth before evaporating into the cold, early-winter air. The clouds were heavy and gray in the skies above, hanging ominously low over the pointed spyres of the lodgepole pines. They were promising snow - ample snow at that, and the lupe tried to recall how long ago he'd had his last meal. Yet all he could wonder was when he'd last seen her.
